The Actes Sud/Palazzetto Bru Zane collection—co-authored books, musicological essays, conference proceedings or archive documents—gives the floor to key actors and witnesses in the artistic history of the 19th century, as well as their present-day critics. Published at the rate of two to four books each season, the collection will examine many aspects of the French Romantic répertoire and the musical life of this period, focusing on the careers of famous or neglected composers as well as the history of the concert, musical genres and performers.
Professeur agrégé d’histoire-géographie, Stéphane Leteuré enseigne au lycée André Boulloche de Livry-Gargan. Il a entrepris un doctorat en musicologie sous la double direction de Guy Gosselin et de Joël-Marie Fauquet à l’université François Rabelais de Tours. Son travail doctoral publié aux éditions Vrin, « Camille Saint-Saëns et le politique. De 1870 à 1921. Le drapeau et la lyre. », interroge la dimension historique du rôle de compositeur et la nature politique de son engagement professionnel. Chercheur associé à l’EHESS, l’auteur aborde le fait musical au moyen de problématiques en lien avec l’histoire française qu’il a notamment étudiée à Paris I sous la responsabilité d’Alain Corbin.
