Concert Symphonic Music

Augusta Holmès was a great admirer of Wagner (whom she met at the age of twenty-two) and that shows in her compositions. Two symphonic poems and the interlude La Nuit et l’Amour illustrate the heroic spirit that runs through the work of this atypical composer.
