Massenet, a must!

Hérodiade

Based on Hérodias by Gustave Flaubert, the original three-act version in Italian was premièred at the Théâtre de la Monnaie, Brussels, on 19 December 1881. The definitive four-act version in French was premièred at the Théâtre de la Gaîté-Lyrique, Paris, on 2 October 1903.
Concert Opera
A clear, well-structured score, sparkling, refined music, important choral scenes, and four main roles requiring excellent vocal and dramatic skills, all plead in favour of the revival of this opera by Massenet.
