Off cycle and on tour
Fausto
A semi-seria opera in four acts by Louise Bertin, from Goethe, first staged at the Théâtre-Italien (Salle Favart) in Paris on 7 March 1831.
Opera

Presented last season at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, this opera was composed for the Théâtre-Italien in Paris by Louise Bertin a few months after Berlioz’s Huit Scènes de Faust. Almost unnoticed at the time of its premiere (despite very favourable reviews) and never revived, the work richly deserves its second chance today.
