Fauré at the Philharmonie

Fauré’s two piano quintets (1906 and 1921) and String Quartet (1924) are late entries in his catalogue of compositions. Twilight works? Paradoxically, these swansongs carry within them the vivacity and insouciance of the first flush of youth.
