Performed in many churches at that time, Clémence de Grandval’s Pater Noster (1863) and Stabat Mater (1870) are fine examples of the rich sacred repertoire of the second half of the nineteenth century. These works are preceded in this concert by the Fantaisie et fugue by Camille Saint-Saëns, with whom Clémence de Grandval studied composition.
The Chœur et Solistes de Radio France are conducted in these little-known works by Lionel Sow.
