Cine-concert in Venice

Neighbors + One week

Tribute to Buster Keaton
CineConcert
Carnival, a time for masks and joy and laughter… and the perfect time to turn once more to one of the great “masks” of silent film: Buster Keaton’s famous trademark deadpan expression. This ciné-concert devoted to him will include two films, One Week and Neighbors (both 1920), with live piano accompaniment (music from the French Romantic period).

Keaton presents an ironic view of love. In One Week, a newly-wed couple try to build a house from a kit, with disastrous results. Neighbors relates the tragicomic misadventures of a young man and woman separated not only by a wooden fence, but also by the disapproval of their respective families.
