Representations of nature have always been an artistic challenge. Since 2020, our seminars have also explored how the environmental emergency compels us to rethink opera within the city. What does lyrical art reveal about our urbanised society’s relationship with nature? What visions and aspirations unfold within operatic works, whether romantic or contemporary?
