Cine-concert in Venice

A hundred years of animation

CineConcert
A hundred years ago, American cartoons were already enjoying their golden age, although surprisingly some of the most iconic characters – Mickey Mouse, for instance – were not yet in existence. In this ciné-concert, we discover a short film directed by Walt Disney, Alice’s Mysterious Mystery, before plunging into the hilarious adventures of Felix the Cat, following in the comic vein of Charlie Chaplin.

This programme also features the work of lesser-known pioneers, such as Bill Nolan and the Fleischer brothers. Appropriately, the wild inventiveness and crazy rhythms of these cartoons will be accompanied by French piano music of the Romantic period.
