The Actes Sud/Palazzetto Bru Zane collection—co-authored books, musicological essays, conference proceedings or archive documents—gives the floor to key actors and witnesses in the artistic history of the 19th century, as well as their present-day critics. Published at the rate of two to four books each season, the collection will examine many aspects of the French Romantic répertoire and the musical life of this period, focusing on the careers of famous or neglected composers as well as the history of the concert, musical genres and performers.
Melanie von Goldbeck Melanie von Goldbeck, diplomata presso la Hochschule für Musik und Theater di Amburgo e laureata in letteratura francese presso l’Università della stessa città, è docente e ricercatrice presso la Oxford University. Dottore in musicologia, nel 2012 ha pubblicato per l’editore Olms un libro sul percorso artistico di Pauline Viardot in Gran Bretagna e in Irlanda (Pauline Viardot-Garcia in Großbritannien und Irland – Formen kulturellen Handelns). Specializzata nello studio del XIX e XX secolo, s’interessa in particolare alla storiografia e alla diversità delle prassi musicali europee.
