In this second Buster Keaton programme, the unforgettable “Great Stone Face” is back in two comic gems illustrating his penchant for elaborate mechanical gags, i.e. gags involving machinery. In The Electric House, Keaton, a graduate botanist, finds himself by mistake with a diploma in electrical engineering – and having to wire a house! He transforms it into a marvel of technology... with hilarious and unpredictable results.
In The Balloonatic, a hot-air balloon provides a source of irresistible laughter. Buster climbs atop the balloon to affix a pennant and it takes flight with only him on board. Again, the films are accompanied by a selection of piano pieces from the French Romantic repertoire.
