Jeux d'enfants (‘Children’s Games’, 1871), composed for piano by Georges Bizet when he was about to become a father, pays a moving tribute to childhood and the transmission of knowledge. In this joyful and stimulating workshop, these miniatures, presented here in an orchestral transcription by Iain Farrington, will enable the young participants to connect with French Romantic music.
