Between the 17th and 19sup>th centuries, Venice’s ballrooms underwent profound transformations, reflecting the stylistic, political, and social changes of the time. Alongside well-known venues—such as the Napoleonic Wing of the Museo Correr, a symbol of new forms of representation in the post-revolutionary context—lesser-known yet equally significant spaces also played a key role, such as the refined Casino Zane, considered at the end of the 17th century a new model of the Venetian ballroom. This talk offers a journey through architecture, social customs, and cultural shifts, providing an opportunity to rediscover the role and settings of dance in both the public and private life of the Serenissima, between splendour, society life, and evolving codes of behaviour.
