Although his name is well known to specialists of organ music from the turn of the twentieth century, Charles Tournemire (1870-1939) remains a discreet figure who has never been the subject of a collective scholarly study in France. Planned to celebrate the 150th anniversary of his birth but postponed because of the pandemic, this international conference will focus on the relationship between composition and improvisation and on the reception of Tournemire as composer and organist.
Organised by the Université Toulouse-Jean Jaurès (France)
